The 15-minute walk along the rocks from the village of Zermatt offers a great deal of variety and a wonderful view across gorge.

You can enjoy this popular tourist destination in a single day which was created in thousands of years.

From end of May – middle of October
Daily: 9:15 am – 5:45 pm

Duration of the traverse: 20 minutes
Access and egress over hiking trail Blatten possible (typical hamlet of the Valais with restaurant).

Trip through the gorge on foot

Tip:

A visit to the gorge from about mid-October, between 3pm and 4pm, is especially impressive: in the special light conditions, the water takes on a brilliant turquoise color.
